(May 30th) Today was a fun day. In Franz Josef the weather there all year round is rainy, which was completely fine with me because we were going Quad Biking today. A group of us all met up and headed over to the quad biking area. We got dressed up in some pants, jackets, boots, and some funky helmets. I paired up with one of my friends, who’s name was also Emily, and we all did some test runs. They taught us the basic functions of how to work the bike and then made us do a bunch of practice runs on this little trail they made. For the first half of the ride, Emily was the driver and I was the passenger which was very fun. We went around this huge area of mud, hills, some shallow rivers, and at times we got to go through a forest. The second half of the ride it was my turn to drive and it was so fun. My adrenaline was pumping and it was so exciting to go fast over hills.
Once we were all finished quad biking and muddy we took off our gear and ended up walking back to our hotel because it was a short walk away. I had a quick shower before I went to go meet up with some friends. Instead of buying dinner out, a group of us decided to get some ingredients to make a huge buffet of nachos. It was way cheaper because we just split the cost between like 8 of us. After our nacho dinner, we all got some drinks and hung out in one room to play some drinking games like kings cup, and other random games that I’ve never heard of but they were hilarious.
I forget the name of this game but I remember how it goes. First off you would pick an animal with a hand gesture to represent it. So while in a circle someone would start the game we all started a beat hitting your legs twice and then a clap and repeat that. So the person(say they are an elephant) would start off hitting their legs twice and instead of clapping would use their hand gesture/noise of their chosen animal. Then they would do the hand gesture/noise of someone else’s animal to pass it along to them. Right away that person has to say their animal and then someone else’s and it just keeps going until someone messes up. If they slip up they drink. It was such a fun game especially when you speed it up, but I was horrible at it, I mostly messed up every time.
