(May 28th) I did pay for this add on called Funyaking because it was a full day tour full of different activities so I figured it would be worth the money. It definitely was worth it. A big chunk of my contiki tour also went on it so it was even better with a good group. We got up early to take a bus down to the water to get geared up. They provided us with wet suits, shoes, hats, windbreakers and huge coats that were technically just a dress. Once we were all changed and ready to go our first activity of the day was a jet bout ride. No wonder we needed so many layers because the wind was insanely cold. The weather had been bad the past few days and a bunch of the Funyak tours had to cancel but thankfully ours wasn’t due to the weather cooperating. The jet boat took us up the river doing a lot of 180 spins along the way. I was freezing from the wind and the water even with my stylish clothing on.

After the jet boat ride was finished we were dropped off at a new spot which had some rafts waiting for us. We were welcomed with some hot chocolate which was amazing and we got to shed off our huge coats for our next activity. We had to choose groups of 5 which worked out well since there were 10 people total on the tour. As soon as everyone was ready to go we headed into our rafts and went out onto the water.

After a bit of rafting we headed onto land to do a little hike and get some lunch. As we were hiking our guide, Toby, showed us these pepper leaves and said to taste them. Some people full on put the full leaf in their mouths which was a bad idea because I only nibbled one and it was such a strong black pepper taste. It was pretty interesting though.

The lunch provided was really good considering we were in the middle of nowhere and they brought all of it out there. You could make your own sandwiches, there was fruit, dessert, and a variety of drinks.

Once we were all finished with lunch we headed back to our rafts, had a little photoshoot and also a bit of fun in the water by jumping in. I had so much fun as we were all trying to pull each other in or dunk them in the water. It was just such a pure time of happiness, I was with people I enjoyed, laughing my heart out and on top of that the scenery around us was surreal.

Once we were on the water again we would row a decent amount but also just take time to float down the river which was so relaxing. At multiple points we came in contact with the other raft and had many many water fights trying to flick our paddles to toss water at them. We bonded a lot in trying to come up with good strategies on how to cut them off and how to use our paddles to get a lot of water and distance so we could soak them. In the end both us and the other raft of people were completely soaked but it was just such a good time had by all of us. We ended up at the end where they pointed out that there were many scenes from the Lord of The Rings filmed around here, especially the mountain, Mordor. We helped pack stuff away and got into a small bus to take us back so we could change back into our clothes.
