(February 23rd) I had to take a train at 11am the next day to go to Beijing so this was technically my last day in Suzhou. I got everything packed up and went out to a resturant for lunch that Dan and Haruko really wanted to take me to since I arrived. It lived up to how good they said it was. I got coconut milk to go with it and it was honestly the best combination, especially to cool off the spice.

Earlier I saw some really good sponge cake being made in the mall and went back to get some after lunch. It’s a very traditional sponge cake they make in Suzhou which is so fluffy and delicious. We usually had bread with breakfast and there was this bakery stand that had watermelon bread for sale. So we got it just so we could try and say it was for my last breakfast in Suzhou.
Back home, we had some cake and tea using their tea set from Oman.
I went to my last dance class that night with Anna and Simeng. It was really fun as always and then we walked together to a resturant to meet up with the others. It was called “grandmas home” probably to indicate that they had good food and a lot of it just like if you were at your grandmas for dinner. It was a really good restaurant.
I headed back to the dorms to be with Anna, Simeng and Lloyd a bit more before I had to say bye. I always hate goodbyes but I love the memories I made with them and our time together.
