Kelsey and I had an early morning, we were all ready to go around 5:30 for a pick up to come get us and take us to the area. When we arrived I was a little annoyed 1. because it was early and 2. it was already getting light out which meant we weren’t hot air ballooning at sunrise. We were split into groups of 6 and then taken to different take off locations. We probably spent a good 15 minutes waiting for them to prepare the hot air balloon, which was cool to watch. I also realized afterwards they probably needed to wait for it to be at least somewhat light out so they could see what they were doing.

Once everything was ready they called us over and gave us the run down. Then we were off! I felt like I was in the movie “Up” when the house starts lifting slowly from all the balloons. It was a feeling I haven’t felt before, I loved it.

Of course I took a bunch of photos, because the view was just breathtaking. But then I put my phone away and took it all in.

We spent a good chunk of time up there, and then slowly made our way back down. Once we got back down, apparently we landed in the wrong area, so some of the workers ended up pulling us to the next area over as we were floating.

We all got out and then took a group photo. Kelsey and I didn’t know any of the others but it was a nice experience with them.

The rest of the day was pretty laid back, the hot air ballooning was the only thing I really had planned. Kelsey, Morgan, and I went to another hostel to use their pool for the afternoon. We also met a girl and when we got to talking she mentioned about going to a hostel with an owner named Momo. Kelsey and I explained our time there and how we made a huge friend group. I think we left her with a good impression because we were begging her to stay there and telling her she wouldn’t regret it.

We went to the night market in the evening and then got some dinner plus dessert (mango coconut sticky rice).
