Started the day nice and early. We had to pack all our stuff up to check out and be ready for a 9 am pickup for our tour. We had time to grab free breakfast from our hostel. This views from this hostel was so nice though.

We made it the pier for around 9:15 and got on the skinniest boat ever. Thankfully it ended up just being us four on the tour. But the boat was so skinny and long that everyone had their own small row to sit in. Going on the river was a tour itself, it was so peaceful going by towns and we were able to see the wildlife.

Our first stop of the day. We walked through a small village and the tour guide showed us where the schools were, one old and one new primary school for the kids. It reminded me of my time volunteer teaching in Zambia. We continued on past the town and started a small hike towards a swimming area for lunch. It was about an hour walk before we reached our destination. I loved it, we were walking through the forest or through open farmer fields surrounded by mountains and animals everywhere.

So many cuties on our walk. 🙂

As we reached the waterfall swimming area, we were drenched in sweat. It made it that much better to jump in the water. Plus, because we were in the middle of no where it was just our group hanging and lounging around.

After swimming we took a break to have the lunch that was prepared for us. It was wrapped in bamboo leaves and the perfect lunchbox in my opinion. It was a simple noodle dish but hit the spot.

After lunch we all got ready to hike back. The washroom situation was just lovely.

Again, the views were just immaculate. We stopped at a little eco cafe for a break. They had their own farm to grow a bunch of fruit.

After the cafe, we made our way back to the boat. Ending the post here because it’s way too long, continuation of the day in Pt. 2!
