Nong Khiaw was known for being more peaceful and a great get away for backpackers who love nature. I knew I wanted to visit it but that meant separating from some of my Pai Family for a few days. I had more time in Laos than most of them so I wanted to make the most of it and not rush. Kelsey and Thibaut from Pai, as well as Morgan(from France) joined to go to Nong Khiaw. We also knew Matthias was going but on his own time. As well as my friends from Chiang Mai, Matt and Jake were coming and ended up on the same van as us. In the morning we hopped on the van and we were off. It was absolutely crammed and crazy hot in the bus, plus the roads were horrible, so it made for just such a great experience!
We arrived around 5 pm and it was beautiful. The mountains were all around us and the town was so much more quieter and smaller. We made it our mission to figure out a tour company for a 2 day 1 night excursion around Nong Khiaw. We had the full next day to go around town and see the tours in person.
