By the third and last day touring with Lloyd we had become good friends.  We planned a lunch at the Opera that day in another Ancient town called Pingjiang Road. To both our surprise the one day we went there was no Opera at lunch only around dinner time. So we enjoyed a good lunch in the resturant listening to the recorded Opera.

Lloyd intrigued me to eat at the resturant by saying there was something they served bigger than my head. I laughed about it until I actually saw it. It was literally bigger than my head. Thank god it was hollow or else we wouldn’t have been able to finish it. It was mostly a sesame pastry but somehow as a sphere. We also ordered eel which was good and I’m getting more use to it.

After our lunch we wandered the street of Pingjiang road. It seemed to have many little cute shops or resturants along it. I really liked the art peice that covered the entire side of the building. Across the canal there were more buildings for homes and apartments.

We always stop for coffee while touring to get a little warmth into our hands. Especially that day it was raining the whole day. But before that we went into a few shops. There was a store that sold flowers but preserved and in many different shapes and sizes. There were earrings, art peices, perfume, decorations and more made from real flowers. The store itself was a work of art. I did buy a few souvenirs because it was a very good price for the quality. After that we went to look for a cafe which ended up being a postcard shop with a cafe upstairs. I especially liked the cafes decorations because I had never seen it before, it was very creative.

We ended up searching for some places to eat small meals and ended up getting dumplings and a bowl of dumpling soup for $3. We kept walking and finally he found the resturant he wanted to show me. They had many little snack foods to eat and we got what’s in the picture( red bean/mochi soup, chicken feet, some kind of curry filled bun) for maybe $4? The soup was like a dessert and sooo good but chicken feet..once again I can say I’ve had them, but will not have them again. People describe it as jelly and that’s exactly the texture. Weird.
