I had an early flight the next morning, the taxi ride during rush hour was absolutely insane.🤣 I’m just glad I made my flight on time.
Im definitely going to miss the insanity that happens on the roads of Vietnam. So unorganized yet organized. After a long queue at the airport to get through security I made it to my gate with just enough time to relax for 15 minutes. And off we go!
The flight only took about 2 hours, but I’m in a new country now!! I got through security fairly easy and it was time to discover Phuket. It was really annoying at the airport because I was instantly being scammed. I knew there were shuttles to get you to your accommodation but every ticket stand was saying there was no shuttle today and getting a private car was the only option. I put my foot down and kept asking around. Finally someone gave me a straight answer and the shuttle was just down on the opposite side of the building. It was annoying but I saved some money. 🙂 It looked very fancy too haha.
I finally arrived at my hostel after sweating my butt off in the shuttle (it had ac just not good ac). I honestly couldn’t be bothered to do anything and I just checked in and grabbed food from the restaurant on the corner. Pad see ew. 😋
Later in the evening, I met a couple and some of their friends playing pool. I ended up getting roped into doing a pop quiz with them later. Even though I’m not a fan of pop quizzes it was pretty fun plus we ended up winning! Team name = The Wise Orangutans.
They wanted to go find a karaoke spot and I got roped into going again.😅 I sound like a party pooper but just not my go to things to do, but it’s better with good people. We walked down Bangla road to check it out. It was absolutely insane. The whole street was beaming with lights and blasting music from each and every bar. I think Thailand is the first place I felt safer being a girl than a guy, especially on Bangla road.
We found the karaoke spot, looked a little bit like a strip club from a movie or something🤣 but I promise it was just a normal bar with karaoke. It was pretty hilarious because a lot of Thai people were there and all good singers, and then there was our group… singing not so well western songs, they must’ve just loved us.😆
Last stop of the night, was dancing. We visited this crazy looking bar/club, it was massive. The girls all wanted to dance, so we stay for a little then headed home. I’ve never experienced a place like this😅 absolutely insane.
For my first night in Thailand I’d say it was an experience.😆 Here’s to exploring the south for another 3 weeks!
