What a cold and wet place… at least when I was there.😭 I booked two nights at this hostel due to it being right by the bus station, but it was a bit of a mistake because it was in the city centre of Ninh Binh. Which, there’s nothing wrong with that but it just felt like a normal city, and wasn’t too appealing. I took 2 days to rest because I wasn’t about to go out in the cold/wet when I didn’t really feel like it. I strolled around the city a bit and it was nice but I didn’t end up doing much more than that.
I heard all the rave about Tam Coc which is about a 10 minute drive just outside the city. I knew I wanted to visit there so I ended up splurging slightly and got myself a nice private homestay for my last night in the area. There were so many hikes or hikes with temples I could’ve done, but with the weather it didn’t seem fun anymore. I ended up booking myself the “Tam Coc Boat Ride” which was very peaceful and I did enjoy it a lot. It was a bit on the chillier side and it was slightly misting/spitting the whole time, but oh well.😅

The henna I did a few days ago:)
Before turning around to head back down the river I was let off to visit a temple. The walk was really nice, overall the whole experience was very peaceful.
I made my way back to my homestay, and I’m in love with the views here. I grabbed some dinner in town and then hopped onto a sleeper bus to make my way to Phong Nha. It wasn’t even on my radar/itinerary, but I met so many people along the way saying it was worth visiting.
