This was a must do for me as everyone highly recommended it. I bought a 3 day 2 night tour for around $185. I’m so glad I waited to book it because when I was researching online before my trip all the tours were priced around $250-$300.
I opted for the easy rider option, which pairs you up with an experienced driver so you can be the passenger and just enjoy the views. The roads weren’t too bad but there were times I was very glad I was not driving. My tour group consisted for 7 people which was honestly amazing, because they can get up to 20-30 people.
After some breakfast at the hostel we ended up heading out around 9:30 to start our journey.
The Ha Giang Loop drive is basically riding through the mountains, through cities, and stopping off at cafes, restaurants, or lookout points. Our first day was very foggy and a tad chilly but I loved it. We stopped off at a little rest stop, what I found so funny was how peaceful and calm the view was compared to the type of music they play.
The scenery with the mountains and the fog that day was so beautiful. We stopped for a quick lunch, family style.
I have wayyyy too many videos and pictures of the Ha Giang Loop, but just trust me it was unreal scenery. My guide, Bao, also had a drone with him and everytime he wanted to use it he said “I want to take video with you”.🤣
