My time with the Van Wijks family went so smoothly. They were such an easy going family to get to know and live with. My time with the kids didn’t feel like work at all. We would go on bike rides around the neighbourhood, play card/board games, go swimming, and go into the city. We would talk about so many topics throughout each day and it came up that I’m an artist. We talked about henna and they went to grab some for me that I could use on them. It was quiet old and not the best but they were so happy about it and it was pretty fun.
On my weekend off I went to visit the Hamils again for lunch in Brisbane city. It was fun to catch up with them even though I had only been away for less than one week. I ended up joining them to go to the art museum. It had some pretty weird stuff but it was a good time and a free museum.
They had to head back home around 3 or so and I just strolled around the city. There was a little walkway with lanterns hung everywhere that lead to a little skate park. I had no idea what it was for but I stayed and watched to pass the time and it was pretty entertaining. After that I headed back home to join my family for dinner.
