My time with the Hamils was pretty short, about 8 days. It was such an cool experience to meet Mr. Hamil again and to be able to live in a local area. It was such a nice time staying with them and I will always have a fond memory of their family.
I’ll definitely miss relaxing by the pool during the day and having delicious meals talking with them all night long, every night.

I had a workaway planned in a place called Sandgate which was still in Brisbane but north of where they were. (Workaway is a website that allows travellers to work for local people gardening, babysitting, cleaning, building, etc, in return for accommodation and food). All in all you save money, meet new people, and get a great cultural exchange staying with locals.
