Saying bye to Momo felt so weird. I didn’t want to go and he didn’t want me to go but he had arranged a ride for me, Kelsey, and Mattieus to get to Chiang Rai. It was his business partner and wife who drove us, and it ended up becoming a mini tour.

Momo made this place feel like home and I will always cherish that.❤️ He gave me a card and even money as a gift. I cried reading it in the car as we were leaving.

We had a long ish drive ahead of us, but it was nice to be in a car and not a bus. They ended up taking us to a local spot for lunch. No English menus and it was so good.

We continued driving and in my mind they have already been so generous to drive us, and yet they made another stop for us. They took us to feed the fish because it’s good luck when you feed fish before you leave Thailand. They bought us some fish food and the fish went absolutely crazy. This area is also sacred and no fishing was aloud, so all the fish were huge.

We got dropped off at a bus checkpoint to continue our journey to Chiang Rai. We gave lots of thanks and headed on. There was a guy (Matt) that stayed at Paifah, but only few days, so we didn’t get to know him that well, but we bumped into him on the bus. Kelsey and I planned our time in Chiang Rai together but had separate hostels. We got all checked in and then went to explore Chiang Rai.
