Here comes Friday, the day for another tubing adventure. I couldn’t say no because friends I met all the way in Vietnam and then again in Bangkok (Bella and Angus) were in Pai the same time as me, so of course I had to go with them. There was also 2 different companies that ran the tipsy tubing, that take you to different parts of the river. This time I went with the other company so the scenery and bars were different. Overall it was fun but exhausting haha.

It was also the start of Songkran, their New Year festival, which they celebrate by having a country wide water fight. I find it hilarious and so wholesome that this is how they celebrate. So while we were on the tuk tuks to go to the tubing and on the river, locals were there with water guns or buckets to soak people.

Momo ended up making Pad See Ew for dinner at the hostel after the tubing, which also apparently included a show.😂

The next day it was officially Songkran so even stepping outside you would be soaked. I was a little upset because all I wanted to do was go grab some food to eat without getting drenched but it was near impossible. At one point I just had to accept my fate and make sure my waterproof bag was sealed the whole time. I ended up grabbing a burger and fries from the safety of a restaurant and watched people get soaked on the streets.

Later that evening, I had whatever Momo made for dinner, which was usually spicy, but yummy. Then I went to a cafe that I had been wanting to try but it was always closed. It had tea in these huge clay pots, and it just reminded me of a witches cauldron.
