After a 12 hour overnight bus ride I made it to my next destination: Chiang Mai. I stayed at the Revolution Hostel which was known for being more social and hosting parties. But first, I had to extend my visa. I’m so glad I waited to do it in Chiang Mai because I feel like Bangkok would’ve been crazy busy. The next day I went out to the embassy to do some paperwork. It was a little annoying because I had all the photocopies and information they needed, but then they also needed a document signed from the hostel I was staying at, which your not told until your at the embassy. Thankfully I was able to message my hostel and they emailed the document to me to print out. After it was all sorted out I had another 30 days in Thailand! I met these two other girls while waiting and we all finished around the same time. We all decided to go out and grab some food together.
After lunch we went out seperate ways and I headed back to my hostel. I spent the day relaxing, did some laundry, and walked around Chiang Mai. I ended up meeting up with Shak, who I met in Koh Tao and Bangkok. We went out to the night market and got Khao Soi and 20 baht fruit smoothies (a fresh 80 cent smoothie wow).
We made plans for the next day because we both wanted to visit an Elephant Sanctuary. We found a half day tour that included transportation there and back, feeding and hanging out with the elephants, and lunch for $20. I was sold. We did a morning tour so getting up for 7 am was rough😅 but it was worth not being in the heat midday.
