I had one more full day in Dalat before grabbing a sleeper bus around 9:30 pm. I decided to go out on my own and just explore the city a little. But first I got a coconut coffee at my hostel.

My dad kindly reminded me to try a dish called Xiu Mai, so I made that my mission of the day and I succeeded. But first I drove around town on my scooter and stopped at the “night market” which was open all day and still fun to walk around in the morning. I got some grapes and cherries from some local vendors and ended up by the water again to relax.

I found a highly rated place selling Xiu Mai but I got lost maybe 2 times on the way there. 😅 It’s an adventure. It was also very worth it, thanks dad. 🙂

After that I wasn’t sure exactly what to do with my day. But I really enjoyed driving the scooter in this town so I ended up exploring a bit. I came across a nice looking brewery just outside of the city centre and decided why not try some craft beers in a different country. I got a flight of them and stayed there for a few hours for some nice down time. One in particular was a porter and it tasted very similar to the black lager I serve back home. But all the beers here were unique and yummy.

I headed back to the hostel for a bit to meet some people and hangout. It was a nice day. I still wanted to go see the night market in action so I headed out again for some food.

It’s very normal to get your drinks in a bag to go because a lot of people use the bag to hook on their scooter handle. I felt like a true local by the end of the night.
