(May 10th) I didn’t have much to do but I did have a tour booked to go see the Mine Bay rock carvings. In the morning I walked over to the docks on the bay and got into a little boat with about 10 other people. It was about a 30 minute boat ride across the bay to arrive at the carvings. I saw pictures of it before the tour but it was amazing to see it in person and up close. It was completed in 1980 and stands 14 meters above the water on lake Taupo.
There was the one main carving that really catches people’s attention, but also to the left of it there was a bunch of little carvings all hidden in the cliff face.
Later that night, I grabbed dinner at McDonalds which was pretty basic. On the otherhand it had a plane that you could sit and eat in.
