I got the pleasure of staying with Tetsuya and Hisayo in their wonderful home. Even though they only knew me through Hiroshi(from Tokyo) I was mostly a complete stranger but they took me in like family. I got my own little japanese style room and their piano was amazing. Tetsuya also had two very interesting insturments he got while travelling.
Before dinner Tetsuya showed me to a shrine nearby and also a viewing point of the city. When we got back we had Shabu-Shabu for dinner which is now one of my favourites. I have never seen sushi besides in rolls, but they had it in a bowl with rice and different toppings on it. It was delicious. Even after stuffing ourselves there was dessert. Hisayo made a homemade cheesecake that was hot out of the oven. I am not a huge fan of cheese cake usually but it was heaven in my mouth.
