When I arrived at Kyoto station they had instructions on how to get to the hostel from a certain exit but I couldn’t find it so I used google maps. They recommended not to use the maps since it takes you a weird way. I thought the maps was a better experience though because you got to walk down small alleys and streets.

The building itself was very bland and didnt look like much. Once you walked in though it was a totally different atmosphere. My favourite thing about it was the lounge area. The reception was at the front and just behind were many tables to eat at and behind that was a couch and many pillows to relax on. They had a little kitchen area for anyone’s use. My first night was a ‘free dinner’ night and it was really nice to have some curry while meeting a bunch of people. The rooms were more hotel style which I didn’t mind because I viewed it just as a place to sleep.
