I still didn’t have roomates and the hostel was pretty quiet. I went to the lounge area which had an electric piano that I had been using and there was actually people there. I overheard the girl say she was going to Australia and she was coming from Switzerland. I joined in the conversation and asked where in Switzerland since I had visited there before. We got to talking about her life and my travels. I’m flying to Brisbane after and she lives in Brisbane too which was such a coincedence since its a huge country. There was another guy there that was at the piano and I asked him if he played and he said that he just started teaching himself last month. He was pretty good but the way he was trying to learn was funny. He didn’t know how to read piano music or notes so he just used this one music video that shows you what keys are pressed. He wasn’t too bad though.
For dinner he told me I should go to a peking duck resturant because I couldn’t come to beijing and not have it. It was a 30 minute walk from my hostel so I left and walked the wrong way for awhile and when I finally found it there was a whole room of people waiting for a table. It was already kind of late for dinner so I grabbed an icecream cone from McDonalds and headed over to a pizza hut I saw. It actually had a peking duck special pizza so I got that. It was really good and at least I can say I had peking duck. Back at the hostel I had to pack up and leave by 7 am the next morning.
