I think the best part of the safari in Botswana was when we were finishing up the first day and making our way to the campsite. Our guide was absolutely amazing and he knew something was going on because two other jeeps were speeding. So he booked it and caught up with them and we were all a little confused but then we laid our eyes on two lions and a few cubs.
This was around 6 pm and the sunset was beginning. It was a beautiful day and we were just parked in a field as the sun went down leaving a blue and lavender sky. To make the moment even more magical a rainbow appeared for awhile as well.
Mostly all the other jeeps left to go to their campsite but not our guide. I feel like he had a sixth sense for when animals appear because we stayed a little while longer and because of that we got to see the male.
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the day.
Even in the morning right off the bat we saw two lions together.
